In this pop-up store for sustainable clothing, metal stockyard
storage crates provide on-site storage. The crates are
repurposed for use in transporting and storing clothing as
well as presenting it to customers. Attached to construction
site fences, crates face up to carry clothing, or face down to
allow clothes hangers to latch on to the handlebars. Construction
site fences inspire the rhythm of the entire room, right down to
the design of the sales counter. Inspired by overflowing garments,
a skewered foam sculpture catches the eye. Foam makes further
appearances as display surfaces or in configuring the changing
rooms. Wireless lighting elements accentuate selected highlights.
The store is easy to assemble and dismantle for transport and
components can be returned to their original use.
