Paul Schultze-Naumburg is a spokesman for the
"homeland security" (Heimatschutz) movement,
and the author of its key cultural works. The project
examines how his ideas survive to the present day
in various organisations and institutions. The wall
of his former home and place of work is transformed
into a bearer of information. The transformation is
based on the stone structure of the wall, into which
eleven panels are embedded. In film, image, audio
and text, these show how the term "homeland security"
is used by different groups. Consideration is also given
to its links to nature conservancy, homeland protection,
heritage preservation and homeland architecture. Two
striking labels frame the information panel and attract
the attention of passers-by. The design is aimed to
encourage visitors to critically question how the terms
"homeland” and "homeland security" are used and to
understand the wider context.

Since the topic presents infinite depths, we have
reduced it to eleven groups. We apply the term
“group” to clubs, parties or associations with a
political backgrounds which have attracted attention
by using the "homeland security" terminology. The
four terms “nature conservancy”, “homeland protection”,
“heritage preservation” and “homeland architecture”
are related to the term "homeland security" are used
again and again by the different groups.
